What is NDIS Occupational Therapy?

NDIS occupational therapy refers to services provided by qualified occupational therapists, funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), to help individuals with disabilities participate in everyday life and achieve their goals. These services focus on promoting independence, improving daily living skills, and enhancing social and economic participation​

What is an Allied Health Professional?

NDIS occupational therapists are qualified allied health professionals who work with individuals of all ages with various disabilities. 

Is Maree the OT a Registered Provider?

No, Maree The OT is a non-registered NDIS provider who works as a sole trader. Maree can still provide NDIS services to clients who are self or plan managed. Maree is a registered occupational therapist with AHPRA.

What is AHPRA?

APHRA stands for the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. It's a statutory authority responsible for regulating and managing the registration of health practitioners in Australia, working with 15 National Boards to protect the public. AHPA ensures that practitioners are trained, qualified, and safe to practice. 

What is an NDIS Funded Capacity Assessment (FCA)?

An NDIS Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) is a comprehensive evaluation of an individual's ability to perform daily tasks and activities in their home, community, and work environments. It's designed to identify an individual's strengths and challenges in areas like mobility, self-care, communication, social interaction, learning, and self-management. The purpose of the FCA is to help determine the level and type of support needed to achieve goals and live safely and independently, ultimately influencing the type and amount of funding available through the NDIS.
